Interpretation:

We may feel tied down, restricted, imprisoned even, perhaps by circumstances, perhaps by another person, or maybe by beliefs or ideas we bestow with too much importance. Things are not always as they seem—in many cases, we are the ones holding ourselves back.

Maybe we refuse to look because we won’t like what we see or we don’t want to face what we need to do about it, but the fact is, we are the only ones who can unshackle ourselves from a self-imposed confinement.

By clearing our thoughts to see what is really going on or accepting that our feelings may mean that difficult change is necessary, we can move on from these limitations and be free once more.
